have established this Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as the “Policy”) regarding the handling of
personal information and comply with it.
We handle personal information safely and appropriately.
The definitions of terms used in this Policy are based on the Act on the Protection of Personal Information
(hereinafter referred to as the “APPI”).
1. Methods of Collecting Personal Information
The Hiroe Patent Group collects personal information solely through lawful and fair means.
2. Purpose of Use
The Hiroe Patent Group jointly uses customers’ personal information within the scope of the following purposes of use. However, if it becomes necessary to use personal information for purposes other than those stated, prior consent will be obtained.
- Provision of services for the acquisition, utilization, protection, and enforcement of intellectual property rights, as well as for dispute resolution.
- Guidance, communication, and reporting necessary for the execution of business operations.
- Various reports, notices, and communications.
- Billing for fees and other charges related to the provision of services, as well as financial administration.

- Notices regarding legal amendments, seminar events, and other activities.
- Sending surveys for the purpose of improving and enhancing service quality.
- Use of educational materials for intellectual property law training.
- Administration related to recruitment and internship programs.
- Labor management, personnel management, attendance management, and other necessary administrative tasks for employees, etc.
- Other tasks and administrative work incidental to the above.
3. Provision to Third Parties
- The Hiroe Patent Group does not provide personal information to third parties, except in the following cases.
- When the individual has given consent.
- When personal information is jointly used within the Hiroe Patent Group.
- When all or part of the Hiroe Patent Group’s business operations are entrusted to a third party.
- When required by law.
- When necessary to protect a person’s life, body, or property, and obtaining the customer’s consent is difficult.
- When particularly necessary for the improvement of public health or the sound development of children, and obtaining the customer’s consent is difficult.
- When it is necessary to cooperate with national or local government agencies, or persons entrusted by them, in carrying out duties prescribed by law, and obtaining the customer’s consent may interfere with the execution of such duties.
- In other cases permitted by law.
- The Hiroe Patent Group may provide customers’ personal data to third parties in Japan and abroad based on the customer’s request or consent.
4. Security Control Measures
The Hiroe Patent Group takes necessary and appropriate measures to prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of personal information and to ensure its secure management.
5. Requests for Disclosure, Correction, etc.
In accordance with the provisions of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, the Hiroe Patent Group will appropriately respond to requests for disclosure, etc., after confirming that the request is made by the individual concerned. However, this does not apply in cases where the Hiroe Patent Group is not obligated to provide disclosure, etc.
6. Revisions to This Policy
The Hiroe Patent Group will revise the contents of this Policy as necessary and strive to manage personal information appropriately. The revised Policy will be notified by the method prescribed by the Hiroe Patent Group.
